Description: There are several components that make up a Sametime infrastructure. The components are as follows

1. Lotus Domino server

2. Websphere Application Server

3. DB2 Server

4. LDAP Server

5. Firewalls

6. N/W components like DNS

Identifying the failure component sometimes becomes difficult since there are many components involved. The time taken to resolve the problem would also increase if the right failure component cannot be identified quickly. For a chat server issue we need not spend time in troubleshooting WAS server or DB2 server. The below flowchart helps in accurately identifying the failure component and also lets the administrators decide when to escalate the issue to PMR support.

The demystification charts are very helpful. Even people who doesn't have much expertise in Sametime environment, can use this to identify the problem area easily and escalate to respective team. Instead of engaging high skilled resources [SMEs] all the time, we can make use of these charts to perform troubleshooting using resources on shift. Good one Manoj!!!
